Healing Through Grief
Healing Through Grief with Robin Goff & Friends
Join me in setting aside time to honor the grief and loss that hangs out in the heart center, just needing to move. As we come together in circle, surrounded by the embrace of Nature, the energies begin to move in a different way, lightening the heavy load of loss. It’s easy to keep muddling through life without carving out time to release some of the weight of grief. Give yourself the gift of a time out in the country, to take time just for you, in a safe, nurturing setting,.
Suggested Donation $25-$45,or as you are able to contribute.
Bring food to share for Pot Luck Lunch.

Robin's 80th Birthday Celebration
Robin’s 80th Birthday Celebration
Please join us for an evening of music, community, gratitude, and joy as we celebrate Robin’s 80th birthday.
We are so excited to have Stan Kessler, founder of the Sons of Brasil premier jazz ensemble, with a Quartet of some of KC’s greatest jazz musicians, playing at the party. The festivities will also include musical entertainment by StarSister Revival, a potluck dinner, and birthday cake, ice cream, and drinks as we gather to honor Robin and all she has contributed to our community.
As part of this special celebration, we are also inviting friends and supporters to participate in 80 Blessings for Robin.
In honor of Robin’s 80 years of love, vision, and service, we hope to raise funds to help complete The Light Center Bathhouse Project, an important step in supporting future retreats, gatherings, and community events.
A blessing may be a donation of $80, $160, $800, or any amount that feels meaningful to you. It may also be a written message, prayer, memory, or heartfelt wish for Robin.
Whether you join us for the celebration, contribute a blessing, or both, thank you for helping us honor Robin’s legacy and invest in the future of The Light Center.
With gratitude and blessings,
The Light Center Community
Monthly Circle of Peace
June Circle of Peace
For this month’s Circle of Peace—Pamela Martin will lead a creative experience of making Prayer Flags together to bless each of us and The Light Center. The Tibetan traditional prayer flags are colorful, block-printed cloths hung in high, windy places to spread blessings, compassion, and peace through the wind. We will create our own lovely version of this ancient tradition.

Suggested Love Offering $30 to $60 or as you are able to contribute
Please bring food to share for lunch. Coffee/tea provided.
Join us for a day to connect more deeply with Spirit, with yourself and with others. Such is the path of healing whatever is on your tender heart. We are all swimming in an ocean of grief now, whether losing people close to us or feeling the pain of loss all around our planet. As we deal with all that is happening in the world, it is important to take some time to reconnect deeply, to all that is good and true and beautiful.
Our day will start with a deep connection to Mother Earth in the Star Garden or in the hoop house if weather insists. Then we will get to know one another in a circle and share whatever needs to be released into a sacred circle. After a shared potluck lunch, we will enter into time for connecting to ourselves and healing our weary hearts.

Learn More:
The roots of this retreat began growing with Robin Goff, founder of The Light Center, and Rose Eiesland Foster & her family. Long before the 1st Freedom of Expression retreat in 2007, Rose's family made sure she participated in a retreat for cancer survivors at TLC. Although Rose survived bouts of cancers, Gordon Foster, Rose's beloved husband, died by suicide on May 4, 2004. And in 2007 Rose asked, "Do you think we could do a retreat for suicide loss survivors at The Light Center?" Robin and I/Marcia answered, "Yes!" And the poster for our 1st retreat, the one in November 2007, was created by a very young Georgia Foster, Gordon & Rose's daughter.
Through the years of our retreat, we have formed a Grief Support Team providing special grief support experiences. Some of us will be Helper-Participants at this retreat.
Each of us has much personal experience with grief after the deaths of loved ones as well as professional training & experience: Marcia Epstein, Social Worker for Suicide, Grief, & More; Rose Eiesland Foster, Social Worker for Veterans & for Grief; Robin Goff, Retired Nurse, Energy Healer & Hospice Chaplain; Donna Hanschu, Grief Support Person for Families & Individuals; Shannon Musgrave, Retired Nurse & Intuitive Medium; and Jancy Pettit, energy artist & healer. In 2025, our expanded team includes Kevin Gates, Andy Lewis, Kelly McCoy, & John Musgrave. Kevin & Kelly each with much professional experience responding to crises, and personal experience as dads living with grief after one of their sons died by suicide. Andy brings a great depth of experience as a hospice nurse. John has decades of personal & helping experience, especially related to veterans, as he is a Combat Veteran of Vietnam.
