Our Story
The first 30 acres
The Light Center was founded in 1994 by Robin Goff, who poured her heart, her vision, and every penny she had into a dilapidated old farm tucked away in the woods of Baldwin, Kansas. With no roadmap and no formal plan, just a deep inner knowing, she transformed a rundown property with a leaky roof and faulty furnace into a thriving sanctuary for healing, connection, and regeneration.
The journey has been shaped by trust, community, and what Robin calls “a thousand miraculous ways” Spirit has stepped in to provide. From its earliest days, The Light Center has been volunteer-run and rooted in love, not spreadsheets. It’s a space where people come to reconnect with the Earth, themselves, and each other.
Evolution
Three decades later, The Light Center continues to evolve, offering hiking trails, regenerative farming, sacred spaces for retreat and ceremony, and a growing circle of people committed to living in harmony with the land. What began as one woman’s leap of faith has become a shared experiment in what’s possible when we lead with trust, gratitude, and love.
