Chainsaw Safety and Maintenance Workshop

This Workshop is designed for anyone interested in becoming more familiar with chainsaw maintenance, light repair and safety.

Workshop will cover:

Troubleshooting, sharpening, bar maintenance, filter and plug replacement, fuel and oil mixing and cleaning. Saw use: Safe handling of the saw, tension and compression, basic limbing and bucking (making a big log into smaller logs). If time allows we will go over some basic felling techniques.

This is a good place to begin if you’re new to chainsaws, or never had any formal training. 

A personal saw is not required to take the training, but if you have one bring it. 

What to bring: 

Your chainsaw and kit* . fuel, two-stroke oil, bar oil.Leather, or durable gloves, long pants, boots, eye protection, hearing protection and chaps if you own them.Appropriate clothing for weather, water, snacks and a lunch.

 

*Chainsaw kit typically includes (scrench) tool that came with saw, extra plug and filter, extra chain, sharpening files, and guide).

 

When:    November 9th 2024. 10:00 A.M. to around 4:30 P.M.

Cost:        $50.00 -  $20 deposit required by November 4th to hold your space.  

Due to the amount of prep work required to hold this workshop, a minimum of five committed participants will be needed to place a deposit by November 4th. The workshop will be limited to 10 participants.
